Earl Grey (Black Tea) 099
When you are in the mood for a timeless classic, you know the answer lies in a cup of Earl Grey, the famous tea blend that stole a Prime Minister’s heart….and name! In 1833, the British Prime minister Earl Grey suspended the price monopoly which the East India Company held over the tea trade with China. The originally pure Chinese black tea was lightly flavored with fine bergamot oil in order to protect the tea from the taste of mould and tar, which could arise on the long voyage at sea to royal England. Thus this tea received its name, and, still today, Earl Grey is the embodiment of the finest English tea. This carefully crafted blend brews up a wonderful amber cup with a bold flavour and a citrusy taste. No wonder this Earl Grey blend is one of the most appreciated teas worldwide!
