Do you love a nice, flavorful ice tea during these hot summer days, but you are bored with your usual recipes? No problem as we have for you 5 fresh ice tea recipes you can try anytime! Easy to prepare and amazingly delicious, just pick your favorites!

The summer days are getting closer and closer, so you will need a beverage which goes well with the heat. Tea is just perfect for that role as tea isn’t just your average, everyday hot beverage, but it can also be transformed into a perfect summer beverage. Ice tea was born in the United States in the 19th century and from there it extended and became popular worldwide.

#1 Mint Lemonade Ice Tea

This beverage is really easy to prepare and the fun part is that the recipe isn’t strict at all as you can vary the amounts of mint and sugar depending on your own taste.

You will need:

  • 3 tablespoons of crushed fresh mint leaves
  • 700 ml of boiling water
  • 4 tablespoons of tea leaves (whatever variety you prefer, but we recommend green for this recipe)
  • A cup of white sugar
  •  A liter and a half of cold water
  • 6 ounce of frozen lemonade concentrate, thawed

Preparing directions:

In a teapot, combine the boiling water, the tea leaves and sugar. Stir to dissolve sugar. Let it steep for three minutes. Strain out the tea leaves and then stir in the mint leaves letting the beverage stand for another 12 minutes.

The next step is to strain out the mint leaves and then stir in the cold water and lemonade concentrate. The beverage is recommended to be served in tall glasses over ice.

# 2 Black Tea Lemonade

This is another refreshing idea of summer drink. It is a very strong and sweet black tea lemonade mixture which can also be served with a slice of lemon for enhanced flavor.

You will need:

  • 5 cups of water
  • Half a cup of white sugar
  • 3 orange pekoe tea bags
  •  1 can of frozen lemonade concentrate
  • 5 cups water

Preparing directions:

Boil the water and the sugar in a saucepan, then remove from the heat and add the tea bags. Let the tea steep and in the meanwhile mix the lemonade concentrate and remaining water in a large pitcher.

Then pour the tea mixture into the lemonade, discarding tea bags. Stir and refrigerate until cold before serving.

# 3 Smooth Ice Tea

This is a smooth beverage perfect for those warm summer evenings especially if you’re near the ocean or sea.

You will need:

  • A pinch of baking soda
  • 2 cups of boiling water
  •  6 tea bags
  • 3/4 cup of white sugar
  •  6 cups of cool water

Preparing directions:

Sprinkle a pinch of baking soda into a heat-proof, glass pitcher. Pour in boiling water, and add tea bags. Cover, and allow to steep for about 10 minutes.

Remove tea bags, and discard; stir in sugar until dissolved. Pour in cool water, then refrigerate until cold.

# 4 Lime Mint Ice Tea

A simple iced tea, with a twang of lime and hint of mint, being both sweet and tart at the same time. The lime juice is much better flavored if freshly squeezed.

You will need:

  • 700 ml of boiling water
  • 4 tea bags
  • Half a cup of fresh mint leaves
  • 1/4 cup of sugar
  • 1/4 cup of lime juice

Preparing directions:

Mix tea bags, mint and sugar in hot water, and let steep for 15 minutes. Strain out the tea bags and mint leaves. Chill and add lime juice before serving.

# 5 Matcha Ginger Ice Tea

This matcha ice tea has indeed a wonderful flavor due to the tea and ginger. It is perfect for both summer days or winter days when you can transform it from a cool beverage into a hot by simply adding soy milk and leaving the ice component aside. The preparation time of this beverage: 4 minutes.

You will need:

  • A teaspoon of matcha powder
  • 2 tablespoons of fresh, chopped ginger
  • 1/2 cup ice
  • Juice of 1/2 lime
  • Honey
